Dubai to get 1st Tiger design

comment on the article

World number one Tiger Woods announced on Sunday that the site for his first golf course design will be in Dubai.

The Tiger Woods Dubai development will feature a par-72 course, a golf academy, 300 luxury villas, 20 mansions and an 80-room VIP hotel.

"I am excited about the challenge of transforming a desert terrain into a world-class golf course," said Woods.

"I have a vision of creating something that is uniquely mine and I want to realise this vision in Dubai."

It would be far more appropriate to devote such money to water projects in poorer countries in the Middle East such as Jordan, Yemen, Palestine etc.
What a stupid headline! I expected to see the design of some tiger. Can't BBC journalists do a bit better when compiling headlines? We don't ALL follow these sporting celebrities

Misleading headline, how?!

It's in the golf section of the new board, devoted to golf articles! So as there is only one Tiger in golf then its pretty obvious!
If you don't like the BBC or whats happened with the new boards just pi55 off, but don't nit-pick!
But if you really really had no idea what the headline was refering too I apologise! (Just so obvious!)

Dubai is all about branding, and aligning itself to the best, whether that is through JVs or simply through the lure of the petrodollar. What the UAE is doing, is going from desert to modern mirage in warpspeed - and thus the lure to tourism is the niche of "bling". Tiger is obviously being paid well for this, but on top of that is probably being given some sense of freedom of design, which works well for both Dubai and him. And it is tested. Montgomerie is loving his new pad!

Who cares if some rich American golfer designs a new golf club in connection with rich sponsers from Dubai. How about the BBC stops wasting British License payers money so that it's reporters can have a jolly and tell us what's really going on in Dubai.

The article is factually incorrect. Dubai is not an oil rich city. It has derived much of its wealth from tourism and Foreign Investment.

What's wrong with people on 606? I knew exactly what the headline meant when I read it. Golf page, golf headline, golf course, Tigers doing one...........not hard.

"Some rich American golfer..." Do you mean Tiger Woods? The best golfer in the world?

What's really going on in Dubai? Do you mean what ELSE is going on in Dubai? If so, that's not for the golf pages. Jeeze.

As for Lingaraj...............what?
