Everton 2-0 West Ham

Premiership Everton
comment on the article
Everton v West Ham

Everton moved to within a point of a Champions League place after they beat struggling West Ham at Goodison Park.

Everton went ahead early in the second half when Leon Osman guided a volley past Robert Green after West Ham failed to clear James Beattie's cross.

In stoppage time James Vaughan drilled a low shot under Green for the second.

West Ham had had the better chances in the opening half, notably when Lee Bowyer was thwarted by a Tim Howard save after good work by Carlos Tevez.

I don't go to games to watch fans but to watch decent football. Watching that today bore me to death.

If you are bored to death how are you writing , i have always thought there would be an afterlife but i never quite thought it would appear as such on a sunday evening via BBC 606 .

I have read on BBC Sport that Moyes "hails an unbelievable result". After the way Everton played at old Trafford on Wednesday I suppose it must be unbelieveable to see such a team winning any match. Remember Moyes also said on Wednesday evening that his players could leave Old Trafford with their heads held high. Football should be about entertainment in the first place. I accept that there are many social and cultural aspects to the game but basically Teams should go out to entertain fans who pay top money to see them play. Everton, a club with a great tradition have just not entertained for many years. Sorry but the sterile football being played by all but 2 or 3 teams in the Premiership has now become the road to survival.

This was an "unbelievable result" because by the end of the game we had a striker playing right wing, a centre back playing right back and one playing centre mid and 3 teenagers on the bench. Not sure who you support but it certainly isn't Everton so I would recommend commenting on your own team. Well played Blue Boys.

We were unlucky 2 lose 2.0 we didint deserve that. I thought we played reallly well and tevez was excellent. And tim howard made some great saves.

Everton played off the park

unjust result

fair enough aboiut Fortress Goodison though. Those 11 men behind the ball do get the job done.

Tevez was MOM - he was beating players with ease and West Ham look to have a very good player**

Bless.. who won their first away game on Saturday laugh

2-0 with a patched up squad..thankyou very much... ok

Everton won the game quite easily in end against an opposition that at least on paper ought to have given a fight. But football isn;t played on paper or with pencil and on the pitch at Goodison Park,Everton were certainly the better of the two sides.

sorry, but first half you were superior but the 2nd we ran the show and played extremely well with the team we had. we deserved the goals but it's your fault fo not putting your chances away because you should have had 2 or 3 in the first half. but you let us take our chances in the 2nd, thats the difference and our 2nd rate against your first rate and we won.
