HTFC - A Club in Crisis Part 2League One Huddersfield Town by JulieLovesHTFC aka JLJ (U3960166) 27 November 2006 I started a thread on the old 606 called "Huddersfield Town - A club in Crisis" back in September, when we were having a bad patch of form. Well after a brief revival, we are slowly but surely slipping down to obscurity. Saturdays defeat to Oldham being the final straw for a lot of supporters. Another demonstration outside the ground, many calling for Peter Jacksons resignation (a view I still don't agree with, but I'll deal with that in a minute), others berating Ken Davy and the board - our beloved club is in trouble. MallioHuddersfield™ (U2014900) posted Nov 30, 2006 Great post. I think too many fans are being ungreatfull of what jacko has done for the club. Its unfair to get rid of him. Having said that, his tactics are as imaginative as Sven's and substitutions are no better. The big problem is, the leagues got stronger and we havn't, where did all last seasons money go!? Somethings very wrong behind the scenes at this club. Jacko has said players will come and go in january, but im not so sure i believe it.

As a Tranny fan, we have seen some highs and lows, even as recent as the last two years, play offs one year, needing to avoid defeat at the end of the season, to stay up, the next. I wish you well in your current plight, whatever happens, I for one am sure that you will get through it! Just one thing, could you afford us the time and space you lavished Oldham when we play you? Then go on a great run after that. GL.

Maskellsleftfoot (U6748401) posted Nov 30, 2006 The problem I feel does lie with Jackson. I welcomed him back with open arms 3 years ago as we were going out of business and needed a manager with an ego to raise peoples heads. However I now feel that he's taken us as far as he can based on the evidence to hand.

HE took us to top of the league and to the brink of the premiership not to long ago. Ok, we collapsed that season and finished 8th, just short of the play-offs. But look what happened after that. Mr. scroogebury sacked Jacko and got a 'big name' manager. Our club crumbled and got two relegations in a couple of seasons. We don't know if the same would have happened with Jacko in charge. But one thing was obvious. The pation he had/and still has, wasn't seen back in any of the other managers. This season we have been awful. i haven't had a chance to see a game yet, but read all i can on town, and get a full match report every week.

Firstly, I don't get to watch town as often as I'd like, but what I've seen this season has to rank up there with some of the worst (and I started watching town in the "supermac" era so it's pretty bad!)
