ELF CUP FINALS AND SEMIFINALS

ELF CUP 2006 NORTHERN CYPRUS
comment on the article

25th of November 2006, the semifinals and finals of the ELF Cup 2006 took place at Ataturk Stadium in Lefkosa [Nicosia] of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

In the semifinals, Zanzibar and Kyrgyzstan equalized 2-2 and ended the games with 9 penalties for Kyrgyzstan and 8 for Zanzibar giving Kyrgyzstan its Third Place in this history making cup.

The Finals was history in the making with Crimea attempting to stop the onslaught of the Northern Cyprus Players. In the end, The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus defeated Crimea 3-1 and earned the ELF 2006 Championships.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus deserved the championships and deserved to be hosts of the ELF Cup 2006. I hope the ELF Cup concepts continues as an alternative to FIFA because people and countries have a right to play sports or their own version of a football cup.
