Fair play or foul?International football Scotland by Riquelme (U6519878) 19 November 2006 Uefa have upheld a complaint by France coach Raymond Domenech that the ball boys at Hampden did not get the ball back into play quickly enough during Scotland's 1-0 win over France. The referee also made reference to the issue in his match report on the Euro 2008 clash. Do you think Uefa's censure is fair? Where you at the game? Was time-wasting an issue or were France poor losers? Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

RFC2006 (U2448196) posted Nov 19, 2006 Domenech was just clutching at straws. His side are beaten by Scotland and the first thing he wants to talk about is ball boys???

zizou_maniac (U1780767) posted Nov 22, 2006 Come on people. First It is the Referee who reported the incident on his game report. Not Domenech. And Secundo; who's the twitt who said that Scotland played better then France that night and deserved the win. Obviously you did not watch the game. Scotland barely touch the ball of the whole night. France dominated the game, they just couldn't finish. HAHAHA I like you all Scottmen!!

JohnMatrixII (U6628500) posted Nov 22, 2006 I could understand French frustration if they had to deal with the kind of situation Scotland has faced playing away to the Faroe Islands with a couple of 4 year old ball boys to throw the ball back. But we didn't hear anything from FIFA about those games. I was at the match and I really didn't notice any delay. Usual big team moans, big team gets.

DrForsyth (U6305120) posted Nov 24, 2006 It would be nae surprise if the ref genuinely did report the ball boys seeing as the Uefa & FiFa directive is tae ensure that the big teams stay in. The game is corrupt tae the core as hus been proved time and time again. This situation only serves tae highlight as fact!

Bundy (U1681039) posted Dec 28, 2006 I think the ball boys DID take their time.It may be unsporting, but UEFA and FIFA seem to allow diving and feigning injury, as just part of the game, so what' the problem. If the ball boys in France do it, there wont be half the amount of press on it. Comment on this articleMY RELATED LINKSThe BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites |
