MentalityPremiership Tottenham Hotspur by stephencarroll (U1024753) 12 November 2006 Just what is the mentality of Spurs players? How can you beat Chelsea one week and then capitulate against Reading the next? How can you even dream about competing at the highest level when you dont win away from home? Im getting so fed up with false dawns. As soon as Reading equalised we werent in the game. Are the players lazy, incapable or just cant be bothered against the small teams? Obviously we will lose to Blackburn next week and we will be slipping down towards the wrong end again. 1 Point from Watford and Reading is not good enough. They do not possess any class players(except one or two),very workman approach, would almost certainly(and inevitably) go down at the end of the season, but let the Royals celebrate this victory. It's due to them really!

When will people realise we are not a one win team are win yesturday showed what reading are about we never quit and have quality.

Peter38 (U1905637) posted Nov 13, 2006 Tottenham thought that getting a result against Chelsea last week meant their season had kicked off, but reality will always come back to haunt you.

sirsergy (U6318647) posted Nov 13, 2006 consistency & compactness is the secret in the premiership, not tinkering week in week out like Rafa is doing at L/pool.They will not land the title until one can name the starting XI straight from the dreams.Reading maybe even be a better side than Spurs judging by their pertfomances against Man U & Chelski

CRXMAN (U6162728) posted Nov 13, 2006 Lets face it the game was wide open the whole time and spurs didn't play particuluarly bad Reading outplayed them. They were smothering the spurs players whenever they touched the ball giving them no chance to move it hence they couldn't create anything.Reading looked well organised and like they hada plan to bring down spurs and they stuck to it and it worked.Spurs can't complain because they were outclassed by a hard working organised team. They are clearly the best of the promoted teams and as such look set to stay in the premiership this season.More performances and Reading finding an away form and they can do very well in the premiership. Their results against Chelsea who beat them with a lucky goal and Man utd show that.

Cape Town Spur (U2986403) posted Nov 13, 2006 Watched the game live on telly, and Spurs had no penetration in the second half. Instead of shooting on sight, they decided to thread the ball through, which did not work. Zokora was a passenger in midfield, while Ghaly was an improvement from last-week. And is it just me or is Robbo getting beat from distance to often nowadays. Got to roll up your sleeves against Rovers next week lads. PS: Where is Mido, cause Defoe has lost the plot a bit.

Harry's Hotspur (U1551255) posted Nov 13, 2006 Reading deserved their victory yesterday, and no disrepect to Reading but what i think everyone is getting at is that when you start the game as strongly as Tottenham did for the first 35mins, go 1-0 up just to collapse as they did is a frustrating and dissapointing result. We were shocking going forward and defensivly in the second half, ive noticed that Spurs are quite often making breaks only just to pass it square across the defence, usually the ball is then played back into the midfield due to lack of runs from attackers (or possibly lack of vision from midfield)

Lillie-Whyte (U1773431) posted Nov 13, 2006 Reading fans enjoyed their afternoon (as I know only too well having been at the game) but, in truth, their team had little to do other than get in position and knock the ball in the net. Spurs players, to a man, were so poor a League 2 team would have had every chance of getting the same result. Reading will rarely have an easier afternoon.
