We all love him, but for the sake the club's immediate future he has to go. For some reason, the players aren't playing for him. Get somebody else in ASAP. Take the opportunity next week when we speak to the Premier League about his manageral status. Sorry Gareth you've got to go.

The rules were put in place for one reason only - protectionism.
Its absolutely pathetic - do players have to pass a test before the clubs employ them? NO
The managers shouldnt have to either it is entirely up to the clubs who they employ

when was the last time that boro were consistant? under steve mac? never. When was boro consistant under robson? never. so why is it a surprise that we can beat chelsea but not watford. 9 boro seasons out of 10 we avoid religation and have some minor success in a cup competion....it keeps me happy. i just hope that this is not a 10th season.......

Too many players not bothered if we win or lose, get rid of the dead wood, mind you, that would leave us with 3 players erm

Ship Viduka off to Newcastle him and Dyer can pick there wages up from the sidelines for them. Lots of good points here. We are the lasiest team in the league. I say ship them all out and play the team who played against Fulham in the last game of the season last year. We will at least see some passion then.

The appointment of Southgate was a fool-hardy decision.

Middlesborough have this illusion of themselves as the number one product of young English players - so they believed that it would be appropriate to recruit a young English manager as well.

The fact is that a lot of Middlesborough's youngsters simply cannot cut it at the top level - and neither can Southgate. You need an experianced manager to control such a young and average team.

Don't blame the man himself - he was hardly going to turn such an oppertunity down. How many ex-pros can immediately get themselves a job at a Premiership club?

It is the Chairman and Board of Directors that should pay the price - you cannot appoint a rookie and expect sucess.

Look at Stuart Pearce. Look at Glenn Roeder. Just because they are young, passionate and English - It dosn't mean they can manage a football club.

Its down to Gibbo. .
He is unlikely to sack Southgate so another mentor is on the cards- Sven?
Though unacceptable to most fans would make a good mentor, as hes not a ranter.
We are unlikely to survive the Premiership, its a long way back from the fizzy pop, ask the mackems.

i would quite like to see sven take over or someone of his stature to raise the clubs profile, everyone else out there thinks were are an easy three points, well everyone else out there didnt reach the final of the uefa cup last year and also the year b4 we finished in our best position since 1923, so why appoint an unproven manager who doesnt know enough to warrant a job at tesco's let alone a manager job at boro ? well only gibbo can answer that one, i just hope that we the fans and the team dont come second fiddle to a disasterous manager who wont get sacked due to too much loyalty from the chairman.

Im not too sure about Sven, Im still hurting from what he done to England although i do think that he could be a better manager at club level. I wouldnt mind him coming in as a director of football and giving Gareth a hand.

Can anyone please tell me two things.

1) Why do we have everyone back and in the box for corners and free kicks? When the ball is cleared it just comes straight back.

2) Why do we use zonal marking on corners? Huth Woodgate and Pogatez all mark a zone on the 6 yard box. With Smaller players picking men up.

I can see the thinking around this but it cost us a goal against Man City as Lee Cattermole was marking Richard Dunne who won the header and scored. Surely if any of the three mentioned above where marking Dunne he wouldnt have got such an easy run and someone would have been challenging with him for the ball.

Sven was a victim/ teaser of the FA. Or SFA.
Would you not have screwed them for all that money?
If you listen he was playing down our chances and the state of the team. Some players are enigmas.

We are probably at least a couple of generations from winning the WC.

watch the Boro panic buttons be pressed if we lose a couple more and drift to bottom.

I agree 100% with these comments on Southgate. How many more losses can Boro take, slipping more and more into a freefall and out of the Premiership. After the Fulham loss it's time to go!!
