What Is The Root Problem?

West Ham United

8 games in a row and its getting majorly depressing, what actually is the problem at Upton Park. The "takeover" needs to be sorted in the next week or I fear we may be heading down a division.

I still think that Pardew is the man for the job, my problem is with the players who are paid far to much money and have very little passion. This is certainly not the West Ham team that pushed Liverpool to the brink in the FA Cup 5months ago.

Its about time that the Argentine "superstars" live up to their billing. Is it possible that the Tevez & Macherano transfer has turned into a Trojan Horse?

Lets hope that the problems at West Ham are sorted ASAP as next year with the increased TV money the Premiership is most definetely the place to be. If we did go down could we face another squad being ripped apart by cut-price deals?

I totally agree with Alan Hansen when he said that the missing link is Dean Ashton, he is the man who makes the whole team work, the battery in the watch if you like. However, I don't think that we can go another month without victory and wait for Ashton to regain match fitness, one man can't always do the job just look at Gerrard at Liverpool. Digging out the results for his team has taken its toll, its a team game and West Ham have to start playing as a team to get the results.

The fans have been turning out in their usual thousands and this faith has to be repayed!, it is most definetely time to stand up & be counted & get some points on the board!!!

I was there last night and, whilst I agree that dailly isn't up to the Premiership, I think the problem is around injuries, selection and team balance. West Ham only played football when Teddy came on and we started playing the ball around on the deck at speed. Before that with Dailly and Mullins in the middle there was no distribution and Reo-Coker was out of position (to be fair he had an awful night). Pantsil was on some other planet too. We need Yossi back, Etherington playing very week, another new right back and some cover for the wingers. The rest are good enough. My prediction? we'll finish 2 or 3 places above the relegation zone - the traditional season!

Quite simply the root problem is that you lot think you are big, in reality you lot are a bunch of hyped east end luns, that should be going down to the championship league. It just brings a smile to my face to see you lot crying, enjoy the rest of the season and let the real teams play !

Hammer's fans im not trying to cause an argument but you all seem to think your are the best team ever, and you aren't just last yr you were in the championship, you have some good players but some are plain awful, maybe you should lower your expectations to the level of your teams ability. You are seriously missing Ashton he was awesome for you last yr. Reo-coker is also a brilliant talent, so far the argies look out of their depth. You need some confidence back and for this you need to change some things round, but plz stop pretending that your world beaters coz you really aren't.

I remember how, on the morning of the transfer deadline, Tony Gale was speaking with almost disbelief on Sky Sports News having just heard the news about the two South Americans arriving at Upton Park.

Heralded as the deal of the final day, and no-one could dispute that, I somehow have a feeling that it wasn't just me that was thinking that it would all end in tears.

Despite the fact that Mascherano and Tevez are extremely gifted footballers who could wear the shirt of say Inter, Bayern, Chelsea et al, there surely must have been alarm bells ringing about the prospect of grafting these two onto a squad of mixed ability with a manager who is still relatively inexperienced.

I agree with most who have written about the sad plight of West Ham over recent weeks. The players are decent but sadly, out of their depth when measured against the likes of the Top 6in the premiership. With Pardew in charge I cannot imagine much in the way of a significant improvement. As a consequence, I'm sure it all fits very well for the takeover to be delayed another week or two to allow the Iranian businessman to apply a new brush.

New players, new coach, new future.

If I were a West Ham United supporter I would be fuming when listening to or looking at Alan Pardew right after another defeat. This guy looks so relaxed, so impassionate and so absolutely like he doesn't care. Does he even sweat during matches? I feel like all he does is giving stupid comments like 'we have to play better' but he doesn't show any passion...I really don't see how West Ham can get out of their mess. I mean they need somebody to tell the players to be passionate and play for the club and the fans. For me, Alan Pardew should become a politician - that seems to be the right profession for him.

"Our chairman Terry Brown came to me on Monday and gave me the opportunity to go for Carlos and Javier - and you don't turn down the chance to sign two world-class players."

Yes, well spotted Ryan. But what is he going to say - the truth? "Our chairman came to me and said 'An Iranian businessman wants to pay over the odds for my ever-less-valuable stake in our faltering club and has given us a couple of world cup stars owned by his sports investment company, which also owns their current club, as a sweetener. So here you go, have fun with them'".

Your quote "Our chairman gave me the opportunity" - what nonsense. Do you seriously think Pardew could have said "No thanks, not interested? I'd rather spend their wages to sign a rising star I spotted in the League 2"?

Don't get me wrong - no manager would have said no to them. But you have to be cuckoo to believe that Pardew had any say in the matter.

Having said this - Tevez and Mascherano are NOT to blame for the mess this season, they are no more than an extra headache for poor Alan. West Ham's players simply aren't very good. End of story. If Pardew was shrewder in the international transfer market he would have been able to do what other mid-range clubs have done better and sign good foreign players at bargain prices eg Wigan with Chimbonda,Blackburn with Pedersen,Reading with Ki-Hyeon
