I would just like to point out that this is not the first time Scotland have beaten teams who have done well in world cups and long may this go on. We have now got a team of individuals who fight for the cause, their fellow players and most important of all their country. We do not have mega stars, or indeed stars of any kind , only honest hardworking players who believe in them selves and their team mates. A great big thank you to them for this result.

Well done, Scotland! Who knows what the future holds, but you absolutely should enjoy a great win. Good luck in the remaining games!

Well done to Scotland.
You did deserve to beat us as it was obvious from the start we would be making the game and that your tactics should be tight defense and exploiting our weakness on corner kicks and free kicks.
To those who say that now you will be taken seriously...i think the way france played shows that you already are taken seriously. Its not because the english dont that the rest of the world doesnt. The french players and press knew what the danger was and wanted to avoid complacency. I notice england tends to aply its arrogance to any other nation maybe because they think tabloid press is the same abroad...
But thats not the case and our Lequipe knows what humility is unlike your Sun.
Again, well done and i hope will punish you for the insult in paris.

furthermore. ill apologize for domenech and trezeguet's dumb comments after the game...but that doesnt really matter as neither of them are of much importance in our time...one plays for an italian team and the other is just plain useless so thatll be my excuse

1st half we were a touch lucky...2nd half - best I've seen Scotland play in a long time. France are frightening when you look at their team, but we are now showing the kind of tactics and style that suit us.

Hats off to my English pals over here who paid $20 for the privelage of watching Macedonia while we got to watch oor game for nothin...they did see the funny side of it after pint 10 smiley

To KingZZ,

How nice to read a contribution from a true football fan. Scotland will enjoy the result from Saturday, because we know we will have to play just as well again to take anything from the games to come.

One defeat does not make France a bad team and they will show that later in the Group - I just hope they don't choose to do it when the Scots are in Paris! (Could you 'do over' Italy in Rome for us, please?)

Finally, thank you to those French fans who applauded the Tartan Army at the end of the game on Saturday. It must have been a very disappointing result for the travelling fans, but they showed true sportsmanship. It is pleasure to face opponents who are as graceful in defeat as they are in victory. Roll on Scotland v France at Murrayfield, when the same camaraderie and mutual respect is always shown.

Vive l'Auld Alliance!

Unbelievable result against a team that played us off the park in the first half. The French support were brilliant, we had a great laugh on the way to the ground on the train. They were a credit to their country. As an exile living dan sarf I went to work yesterday, walking that wee bit taller and my chest sticking out that wee bit further. Funny what a fitba result can do.

Sensational Result against a really good french side, first 45 minutes we were on the back foot pretty much the whole time, even though i felt we were in the game much more in the 2nd half, the defence were sensation in stopping Henry and co. I've always had a great deal of respect for the french football team, However that Trezeguet, well as My maw said If you can't saying anything nice about somebody best to say nothing at all smiley

Looking at the group standings however; it certainly bodes well for Scotland, 3 games, 3 wins, 9 points. Many of the teams can play a competitive match.
