Chelsea hiking transfer fees

European Football Chelsea

comment on the article

Real Madrid's president has complained that Chelsea's spending power is hiking up the prices of players on the market.

Being a Man United fan I didn't expect that I would be defending Chelsea on this subject. Well it's not a defence as such but I can't help but think it is a case of the pot calling kettle black.

Not so many years ago did they not break world record transfer fees buying players such as Figo and Zidane?

Yes Chelsea is having an impact on the transfer fees but Real Madrid were doing the same not long ago!

Chelsea Supporter biggrin

Real Madrid have but their foot in on this one they were spending millions and millions a few years back the same as chelsea are doing now.

Also this is just pure Jealousy if say Barcelona, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, AC Milan or another club had 30 billion pounds those clubs would be doing the exact same thing as what chelsea are doing. We (chelsea) were Seriously broke at one point becasue of our big spending spree we had in 2003, now we are a powerful, richest and the best club in the world and in europe we are just making all of our wealth sireal and showing it off because we were never like this before.

And these are real madrid transfer record fees when the were rich just like we are now:

ZIDANE - £59m (juv-real madrid)
FIGO - £39m (porto-real madrid)
BECKHAM= £26m (Man United-Real Madrid)
etc.

so who is over spending millions on players us chelsea or Madrid it surely has to be madrid. chelsea max price on footballers is £31.8m on shevchenko a brittish club record fee and all our other players have cost us around £20m-£25m so madrid have made them look guilty on this aurguement. Also we never paid any money for Ballack we got him on a free transfer because his contract ran out last year at bayern munich the only thing we are doing is giving players of there quality an exalent wage because of their talent the wage of this is around £130,000 a week.

again = pot/kettle

SO STOP BEING JEALOUS REAL AND TO OTHERS AND STOP MAKING YOUR SELF LOOK STUPID!!

PS: TO ALL ENGLISH SUPPORTERS IF YOU WANT TO SEE ANOTHER SENSATIONAL WIN OTHER BARCELONA AGAINST CHELSEA LIKE THE WIN IN 04/05 SEASON THAT SAW US TRIUMPH BARCA 4-2 AT HOME AT STAMFORD BIDGE, I'M ASKING YOU TO SUPPORT CHELSEA FOR JUST THESE TWO LEGS AND YOU WILL GET YOUR REWARD. THANX IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO THIS.

I'm astonished at the sentiment that prevails against CFC when it comes to Europe.
I for one was delighted when Man U achieved the treble. They deserved it and having already lost in the league and cup, I cheered them on.
Same with Liverpool in the ECL. despite my thoughts on them being in the final. They deserved to win it.
So why do other fans support non-english clubs against another english one???
e.g. Barca over Chelsea.
Surely it is great for the EPL for any of our clubs to do well in europe.

I've got to agree with the people on here that are saying clubs like Real Madrid talk with double standards, look how much they paid for ZZ, Figo and Ronaldo.

As the saying goes ( especially if these so called top clubs and their supporters that " continually " whine on Chelsea spending as now being inmoral, that has in the past done the same with their own spending on players seem its so now unfair, than frankly ) keep out of the kitchen if you find the heat to hot at present.

I understand where Calderon is coming from. They spent so much on star players but their statements did not look anything as bad as Chelsea's. It's all about how your end of year reports look like. Not sure but I think Real still made profits when they spent big on Zidane et al.

Well real madrid have been responsible for the over inflated transfer maket for the past ten year's with there farcicle pollicy of sighning a world class player every season it's a joke.

O and they still havnt got any arsenal player's they are mad every time arsenal go to sighn a player real madrid turn up and try and do the same and hype the price of the player up so to try and out gun arsenal in a finaticail sence but there plan never work's out because player's want to play good football not get paid 100,000 a week and play pittifull football.

To be honest i think that real madrid are threatend by chelsea because if chelsea continue to sighn every world class player avavible than who are real madrid going to be able to sighn no one exsept second rate player's it make's me laugh.

They have also claimed this week that cesc fabrigas is still a target for them now it seem's to me like fabrigas isnt going any where any time soon so why do the real madrid board keep comming out with absolute crap.

How did Real Madrid manage to get into hundreds of million pounds of debt if they were making a profit at the end of the year ?

Top clubs always attract the better plays - always have done. Whether that be Liverpool, Madrid, Juventus etc etc

Seems this is just another dig before a Chelsea Barcelona game.

I find the hypocrisy on display here quite staggering. After all, was it not Real who used to boast "we will by a new Galactico every season"?? How much did these Galacticos cost? transfer record after transfer record smashed year on year..

Perhaps it's a case of the famous Real whites turning a little green...

Hypocrites indeed! People like Roman dserve a Nobel Peace Award. Would they prefer Roman fund terrorism? How many players have chelsea bought out of the world's best? not even .00000000001%. Roman's attitude has improved football and that is why all English clubs top their groups at Uefa Champs!laughlaugh
