Freddy Adu to Reading?

Premiership Reading

I've heard a rumour that Freddy Adu may be joining Reading on loan in January, with an option of a permanent move for £5mill. i think this would be brilliant. I'll admit that I've never seen him play, bt I've heard about him and he's meant to have great potential. At 17 he won't be staying in the American league much longer if he wants to big career, so a move across the Atlantic makes sense.

People are rubbishing the idea, but listen to what I have to say, it makes a bit of sense. Don't get me wrong, playing at Reading will probably not be the pinnacle of his career. However, he may well come to club on our level in his early years to get used to English football and get some first team football, which he would not get at a bigger club at 17. It could well be the case that after success at Reading he'd move away after a couple of years. It would stop him from being thrown in too deep if he was overrated.

The next barrier is the transfer fee. £5mill. Do reading have that sort of money, with Stadium expansion possibly being planned? Simple, he's on loan at first. If at the end of the season we think we're not ready to spend £5mill on future superstars we'll not do it, and having him on loan gives us the option to send him back if we're not ready for players of his standard. However, if we are then we'll spend the £5mill on him, we had £5mill+ offers rejected in the summer, so I'm sure the fee wouldn't be too much of a stumbling block.

I know the Sun is not a relyable source, but the idea of Adu's career in England starting with Reading is not as ridiculous as it first sounds, and if West Ham can sign Mascherano and Tevez then who knows?

Please let that rumour be true - Zamora simply can't cut it in the premiership, he tries hard but that's not what we (West Ham) need now, we need a goalscorer

Zamora? I can't see really how he can do a job for Reading. He's struggled at West Ham long enough!

Anthony Stokes at Falkirk can't stop scoring. Thats the kind of player Reading should be targeting. Bring him in!

Zamora is poor and so is adu
Reading should sign Will Hoskins cos hes quality and hes one of the top scorers in league 1 even though rotherham r in the relegation zone

Mohamed Aboutrika looks a good bet for anyone in the league. Upson's played with some players before and i think he still has a soft spot for us. Tom Soares would be a brilliant buy, he wont want to waste away at Palace for too much longer. It depends whether Coppell wants to provide support for our tight back line, or if he wants to bring in competition for it. Bale would be a great signing but Coppell would have to be prepared to give him playing time
