Encouraging!

Premiership Liverpool

Our possession has crept up and we're two goals to the good against Tottenham. Hopefully another clean sheet! Another one for Kuyt, two goals in two. This could be a positive turning point.

Meanwhile I'm wondering about Bellamy and whether he's got what it takes to stay in the Liverpool first team. And like everyone else I'm wondering where Fowler's got to.

Never been a big liverpool fan. Always as a neutral prefered watching Man U or Arsenal.

But this season you are creating a lot of chances, ok spurs are pap, but chelski are not and it was by no means a walk over.

The thing with us this season is that we have been playing well but not taking our chances.

In both the games we lost at Everton and Chelsea, we had enough opportunities to get something from them but failed to take the chances.

Momentum is the key now, let's hope we can go on a run, Bolton(a) will now be a good measure of how much confidence we have gained in the last week.

And Kuyt is looking a superb investment, the best workrate of a striker since Rushy.

I think we've settled early enough to embark on a proper title challenge this season. However we mustn't get complacent as we've still a few ig games coming up.

Our season could be shaped in a handful of games any time in the season now because of our bumpy start. The players need to keep their focus an push on from two good wins.

Also...

Did i miss read.

Spurs only had 3 shots on goal, zero on target, to liverpools 14 odd.

Again match of the day talk about the jenas miss, but to be honest liverpool could have scored 3 or 4 before then.

Liverpool are not consistent,to take the trophy a way form the defending champs, they are only strong at home in front of the Anfield KOP they have to do more in away games as well to be the strong title contenders

iagree with you all, we have to win a lot of away games, because as rafa said that the premier/league winner will have only 80 points, so if we win our 18 home games it means we have 54 points, then we have to win 30 points from the last 40 points then the trophy will be in our trophy cabin

No teams have been consistant so far this season, apart from maybe portsmouth who are bound to slip up sooner or later. Liverpool have just much as chance of winning the title as anyone as long as they keep improving. I just really don't think chelsea will be the team they've been

What a load of nonesense about Liverpool not being consistent enough.
------------------------------

Yes, how can you say anyone is inconsistent after only 6 games?

I thought we took another important step forward yesterday. The last 30 minutes was perhaps the best football we've played since last FA Cup semi.
If we can repeat that and start earlier in the game, then we'll challenge for sure.
Rafa has now got a squad deep and strong enough to handle the incredible schedule of domestic and international matches.
Only one thing worries me a little even though it's a nice problem: the role of Crouch.
How ironic that a striker who may be destined to pass Bobby Charlton's record and become the most prolific English striker in history, will often not start for his club.
Is there any way that Bellamy,Crouch and Kuyt can be on the field together? Suggestions?

Super Pompey e.t.c.

Good point about an attacking right back. In fact I think Rafa's been looking for one. I bet we'll sign one in Jan. Otherwise we look well covered in defence I think.

i dont think the three strikers would work, unless you play bellamy out of position, but then u lose garcie/pennant/gonzalez/risse/kewell (when fit) so it comes down to sacrifice...

So what do we all think about Rafa not using the same squad twice in a row for like 93 games is it? Rafa is a legend but do we all agree this is the best way to stay consistent?

Dirk Kuyt is proving why all many teams were interested in him over the summer.

He has a lot to offer up front, he's got pace, power and a great eye for goal.

This man should have a brilliant season for liverpool

Dirk Kuyt's workman like effort is nothing shortof amazing. I only wish Shevchenko and Ballack would do the same for Chelsea.

As for Bellamy, he's caused problems at every other club he's been at. I'm sure he's going to fit in quite well at a club like Liverpool.

Bellamy will come good he just needs that finishing edge and he will be flying!! I did not realise how fast he was until he joined the reds!! Kuyt is amazing and showing why so many clubs were courting him.

Got to agree with the comment that Zenden isn't a good CM, why get rid of Hamann? he had another year in him at least, he has been a fantastic player for us over the last eight years. We should have bought someone to replace him rather than trying to mimic what United have done with Ryan Giggs
