I think this guy has some serious talent and am just wondering why only his Jeevithe song has been featured on the show? Not that the Jeevithe song is bad but some of the other tunes on his album are wicked! smiley

Does a song have to feature some sitar music or that bhangra ting ting to be featured on the show or does it also showcase Desi talent, regardless of the style of music?

Delon's currently in Sri Lanka doing several shows, wish I was in SL to go to them.

This is his video for Calor De La Salsa... it's an awesome song!

Cool, I'll check the link out when I get home from work! Just to add that I think Jeevithe is a good tune.

Just checked it out...is he seriously the same guy?! Its an interesting and good tune. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he doesn't appear to have messed around with the salsa rhythm, just laid his rap on top of the rhythm neatly on - which is not all that easy. While some of his lyrics ain't the best, its a very catchy joint.

If you know where I can hear clips off the album, let me know - cheers

Yeah it is the same guy smiley The album has a lot of different styles of music in it.

"The Connection is a journey that chronicles the world travels of this multicultural artist spanning 33 countries. DeLon speaks of the familiar “connection” between the Indian, Sri Lankan, Latin and African cultures over an eclectic fusion of salsa, soca and traditional Sri Lankan and Indian Classical music blended with hip-hop on the album as well."

You can visit the website here:

But if you wanna listen to samples from the album go to:

My favorite songs from the album, besides Calor De La Salsa and Jeevithe are:

- Get Loose
- Killer Styles
- Change Da Game
- Get It Crunk

Thanks for the links – it was a great opportunity to get a taste of the album. I’m in two minds on whether to get it now…Music 4 Da Soul is a wicked joint, with that infectious sample of a few bars of soul. And Calor De La Salsa and Jeevithe are also heavyweight tracks as well. I’m also liking Be About Yours at the end, its got a slightly warped composition – the rest of the album though I ain’t so sure about, some is OK, and some not good, like Get The Crunk Up – which is one of the tracks you like! Music 4 Da Soul is the record for me though.

I guess everyone has different tastes smiley I would like to see more "ethnic" tunes on the album as well, maybe on his next one...

Nah - I think he's kept the balance fine...reading about his past on that record website, he makes some very bold claims to attempting to represent the many roots of his life through his music - which I think he manages to do for a fair part of the album.

I read somewhere it says he has "latin roots" but as far as I know this is not true smiley I like the different styles of music too, I think the album just came out in SL this week.
