Why are big d&b nights generally held on a Friday and not Saturday?
A couple of weeks ago in London, there was Hospitality at Heaven, Tru Playaz at Fabric, Switch at Ministry and Metalheadz at Herbal -all on the same Friday night.
Dave said Switch was good but there weren't that many ppl.
Why couldn't have it been on the Saturday?
D&B has shown it can pull in the punters when the timing & line-up's right.
Is it the recovery factor?
Any ideas?

i think its to do with club owners knowing they dont have to risk putting on a speical night on a saturday when the clubs are busy anyway with comercial music ...as a trying promoter myself ...club owners are reluctant to break something that dont need fixing ..and have always only ever offered me a wednesday or friday night ....i reckon if they took the gamble ,,,they would fill the clubs with even more people ....but whose gona be first to take the gamble......dnb is still very much an underground thing...and some clubs wont even have dnb nights as they link it with drugs and violence ... wake up clubland

to be fair tho, alot of dnb nights i've been to are packed full of chavs with attitude who push each other around and if you even slightly look at them they try and punch you. that side of the dnb following i hate as they bring an attitude and hostile edge to an otherwise chilled out crowd just up for the beats and not violence.
i have been put off goin to nights at fabric because the amount of chavs off their faces on pills and looking for violence.

I much prefer a boogie Friday, I'm too old and manky to deal with the Sunday blur then cold shock of employment on Monday

The problem with putting events on on saturday is that everyone blows off to much steam on the Friday nite, as a result you generally dont get the same turnout cuz everyones worn out from mashing it up the nite before! (our crew found this out when we put a night on last week) Dont get me wrong theres still the die hards that can rinse it 2 nites in a row but generally the turn out can be lower

this is true
when you wake up on saturday at 3pm you still have 1 day left (sunday) to prepare your mind from the menatal torture of work

I was at a certain club, not naming it.. It was rammed like a cattle truck or the undeground.. not my thing... then to top that off, because I'm slightly older had a load of chickenheads asking ME if I had "things" to sell... grrrr... 4 times in one night.. it did p*** me off.. Most of em where there for a night out, which is fair enough. Just because it was a very good line up , was a shame true heads weren't there as they couldn't get tickets. I did like when I went to the end for a none dnb night (was a house night) for a m8's birthday, prefered the vibe of the place a lot more.
