FACTS
Burrington
is roughly 540 ft above sea level
The oak tree that stands in the village square at Burrington
is said to be about 500 years old.
Burrington is in "Tarka Country". Henry Williamson
was the author of "Tarka the Otter", which won the
Hawthornden Prize for Literature in 1928 and was filmed in
1977.
Henry Williamson spent a holiday in North Devon just before
the outbreak of the First World War, and becoming enthralled
with the wild scenery.
All is not quite as it may seem with this 'webcam'. Did it
catch you out?

FACTFILE
This
spoof 'webcam' is courtesy of BBC Devon user, Dave Tylcoat
and features on his Burrington
website
Dave
tells us: "Burrington is a small village in North Devon
with about 500 people within the Parish. We are about 540
feet above sea level about a mile to the west of the Taw valley,
'Tarka Country'. There is a Post Office shop, a pub - the
Barnstaple Inn, and a primary school."
"So
far there have been reported sightings of foxes, sheep, a
cat, a possible UFO - and Elvis (although someone maybe having
a joke with that one!)"
We
think you should check out some of the
pictures as Dave keeps his tongue firmly in his
cheek (Is it April 1st by any chance?)
Here
are just a few of the sights that have been seen
on the Burrington webcam:
