British European,
the flight operator, says following September 11th, the Channel Islands
are seen as safe destinations.
Flights to Jersey and Guernsey out of Exeter Airport started on the
7th of April, 1952. A return fare in those days cost just £6,
nowadays the standard return charge is just over £100.
Fifty years into the services, Exeter-based British European is very
pleased with the growth in traffic to the Channel Islands and it wants
to buy bigger planes.
