Introducing
Carver's Gate
Strange
name...?
It
just happens to be the film we were watching that provoked our new direction.
Who's who in the band?
Me (Annika) and Mik are sisters and we met Chris in the local
rock club. I'm
responsible for the vocals and guitar. I love getting something for nothing
and I hate silence!
Mik is the drummer and Chris is 2nd guitar, keyboard and bass. Chris loves
his cat, Icarus nad hates re-mixes!
Which
three words best describe your music?
In my opinion it's Moody, Punk, Film-score but Mik says David Lynch Punk
so something along those lines.
"A
Day Like Any Other" is not really a song like any other is it?
It's the first of our recent songs to be completed, I got the idea for
it when I was trying to sample from films for vocals, which didn't work
so I came up with this instead.
Tell me about your plans for the future?
I'd like to have the finances to afford more scratch effects and record
an E.P in a studio, although I would really like to mix it myself.

And
if you become famous...?
We'd move to the city but still visit our home towns. Have a huge appartment
- with staff! And write a film, I'd love to make a film - and cast it!
Open up your record collection for us to have
a nose about.....
Annika
- I have such a vast record collection from the likes of Nine Inch Nails
to Primal Scream who are SO under-rated, and of course, Pink Floyd and
The Who.
Chris - My favourites among my collection are Metallica, AC/DC, Feeder,
Foo-Fighters and Faith No More.
And Mik...?
At the moment I'm into The Covenant and Sisters Of Mercy.
Finally
then the question we ask everyone, what's the best and worst thing about
Devon?
The best thing, in my opinion, is the
recent music scene and the worst is ..... maybe we don't get enough recognition
here - Annika.
Well
here's your chance for some recognition guys, "A Day Like Any Other
is ready to play and see what everyone thinks. Good luck.
