Introducing
Blurred Vision from Plymouth
How
did you decide upon the name Blurred Vision?
It
came from a song called Blurred Vision which Meltz wrote about twelve
years ago.
Meltz?
Gary Meltdown, the drummer and backing vocalist. Then there's
Mainman Michael John who plays guitar and sings lead vocals.
Between us we have a real passion for music and especially playing live.
Which
three words best describe your music?
Rhythm And Blues!
We started out in 1997,
ostensibly as a Rock 'n' Roll outfit but gradually transformed into a
Rhythm and Blues act.
The
track you've chosen is "Keep The Change", what's it about?
It's all about a man who doesn't want a committed relationship. Rather
than having one night stands or resorting to red light areas he has a
certain arrangement with a "very fine lady"!
What are your musical tastes?
Meltz - Rolling Stones, DR Feelgood, Wilko Johnson, Peter Green, Eric
Clapton plus all other Blues pre-war, Delta, Chicago etc. I like a lot
of music including Hawkwind, Radiohead, REM, Talk Talk, XTC, Coldplay
etc...
It
would've been easier to ask who you don't like!
What about Mainman?
My collection is in the same vein but on a smaller scale.
Meltz: Most of yours are mine!
Now then, stop squabling boys, how about finishing
this sentence..."If we became famous..."?
Meltz:
We wouldn't do any overtime.
Mainman: We don't anyway.
Meltz: Oh yeah!
The
future..?
To do a Blues Night for the Plymouth Music Co-operative. To play more
venues around the South West and further.
To take part in Blues Festivals in pubs/fringe tents.
To become more involved in beer festivals and Bike Rallies.
To release a CD this year and work on our own material to put into a live
set. We like to keep busy and set goals.
Best
and worst thing about Devon?
The best thing is playing venues in
coastal , country and city areas that are all in close proximity.
Worst thing is getting a decent parking space!
