Has music always been a passion for you?
I've been playing gigs for ages. I started
doing folk clubs and small gigs whilst I was a teenager in Somerset,
but since I've moved to Totnes I've been able to really concentrate
on my music - it's been brilliant.
I've
spent loads of time reworking some new material and
met loads if musicians to jam with.
What's
the name of the track you've chosen to demo?
It's called "Always be there". It's one of the
few songs written whilst I was at Uni in Cambridge. It's a love
story I guess, but not just a love story.
It's
more of an ode to modern life - inspired by living in the city -
away from all those countryside things like trees!
What's
your view of the current music scene?
There is always brilliant music if you look hard enough. I used
to work in student radio and was amazed at the variety of stuff
which never quite makes it to the mainstream.
What are the highs and lows of living in
Devon?
I haven't been here that long but already I love it. It's great
being 5 minutes from the open countryside - whilst living in a pretty
lively town.
There's
enough music here to keep anyone busy. I can't think of any lows...
not yet anyway.
And
the future?
I'm going to keep doing music for as long
as people will listen. I want to play as many gigs as possible and
live it to the full!
