The Weather Show on BBC Radio DevonThe weather is an endless source of fascination and conversation, and nowhere more so than in the South West. If you are interested in isobars, barmy about barometers or consumed by clouds then BBC Radio Devon has the show for you. From the moors to the coast, the weather can be extreme, changeable and have a huge impact on people's lives. ![]() Weathergirls - Helen and Emily As part of BBC Radio Devon's Christmas schedule, there will be an hour long special all about our wintry weather. Presented by the newest members of the weather team, Emily Wood and Helen McKenzie, the show will cover topics from the worst winters the South West has seen to Devon's winter surfers. If you are interested in where the weather details come from, then join Emily on a guided tour of the weather station at RNAS Yeovilton. We will hear about how the weather impacts on our lifeboatmen in the winter months and Helen will be finding out how the Highways Agency prepares for the cold weather. There will also be a shovel-full of snow facts and Radio Devon presenter Tony Beard sharing his favourite weather lore. ![]() Winter can put extra strain on lifeboats And our very own 'Weather Brain', weatherman David Braine, will be answering your questions. If you have a burning question about Celsius, are flummoxed by Fahrenheit or wonder about wind chill, then email your weather questions to spotlightweather@bbc.co.uk You can hear the answers to the weather questions, and the rest of the meteorological mix, on BBC Radio Devon, New Year's Eve at 5pm and New Year's Day at 12 noon.
