Faith FeaturesYou are in: Devon > Faith > Faith Features > Festival of lessons and carols ![]() Crediton Parish Church Festival of lessons and carolsBy Danny Lawrence BBC Radio Devon's annual Christmas service will be recorded this year at Crediton Parish Church, and broadcast on Christmas Day. On Christmas Day 2008, BBC Radio Devon will be inviting listeners around the county to hear the Christmas story and join in with lots of favourite carols. You are also invited to join us for the recording of the programme. We will be holding the service at the Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross and the Mother of Him who Hung Thereon - better known as the parish church in Crediton. It will take place on the evening of Wednesday, 17 December. Seats are available on a first-come first-served basis, and we need to have everybody ready for sound-checks at 6:45pm. The service will then be broadcast on BBC Radio Devon at 6am on Christmas morning, and again at 6pm the same day. The organist and choir from Crediton Parish Church will be leading lots of congregational carols. They will also be performing some of the pieces they have been preparing for the church's own carol services. Our worship will be led by the Reverend Nigel Guthrie, the Rector at Crediton, and the nine lessons will be read by familiar voices from BBC Devon. Check back here for further details about which presenters might be there. The BBC Radio Devon Christmas service isn't the only event being staged this year - find out about the station's Sing Christmas extravaganza on 22 December by clicking onto the link on this page. last updated: 25/11/2008 at 13:29 You are in: Devon > Faith > Faith Features > Festival of lessons and carols
