Binky and Zippy with Philippa
Philippa's best friends
Rheumatoid arthritis hasn't stopped Philippa Armstrong becoming a successful dog agility trainer. She's the only person to qualify for a national final while controlling her dogs from a wheelchair.
Philippa, from Totnes, is passionate about her border collies Zippy and Binky. Most weekends she can be found competing in dog agility competitions all over the UK.
Her dogs respond instantly to her commands and are adept at negotiating complex obstacle courses at speed.
She's had rheumatoid arthritis for 34 years, but her condition hasn't stopped her from competing at a national level.
Most agility trainers run with their dogs around the course, but Philippa controls Zippy and Binky either from her wheelchair or by standing in the centre of the course.
