For Devon from Devon
Matt's proud of his Devon roots with over 5 generations of "Woodleys" living in the county!
Matt has worked on many of BBC Radio Devon’s programmes in the 18 years he’s been with the station; from presenting the early morning show at 5am to providing technical support for weekend sport events.
Some of the highlights for Matt have been presenting a 24-hour, non-stop radio show in aid of the BBC Radio Devon Chestnut Appeal, broadcasting live from Old Trafford during Exeter City’s third round FA Cup draw against Manchester United in January 2005 and providing live coverage of the 80th anniversary of World War One from Ypres, Belgium.
Matt was also Judi Spiers' sidekick when the "Devon maid" first graced the airwaves of BBC Devon in 1998.
"I know it shouldn't surprise me but it always makes me smile when people say that they wake up with me each morning," explains Matt.
Their wives or husbands normally have something to say on the matter as well!
