Devon alternative rockers All Living Fear are celebrating their 15th anniversary by releasing a double album. Fifteen Years After, released in September 2007, features guest appearances from - among others - Arthur Brown (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown), Steve Bronski (Bronski Beat), and Julianne Regan (All About Eve). The Bovey Tracey-based trio are Matthew North on guitar and keyboards, Paul Roe on bass guitar, and lead singer Andrew Racher. The double CD is their fifth album and has 29 songs - some of them are remixed versions of previous All Living Fear releases, and others are brand new songs. ![]() Andy and Paul from the band All songs are written by Matthew (music) and Andy (lyrics). Founder member Matthew said: "The album was 14 months in the making and we are really pleased with it. "A lot of it is stuff which was never recorded properly, and has been newly recorded. And the rest of it is brand new material. "We've got everything sounding as we wanted it to sound." So what exactly is their sound? Matthew explained: "I find it really hard to describe our music. People who listen to us also listen to anything from Led Zeppelin to Depeche Mode. "We always make sure everything we do is melodic, so I'd probably say we are melodic alternative rock." ![]() Arthur Brown appears on the album Matthew runs Arthur Brown's website (you'll remember him - he had the hit Fire in 1968), so asked him to sing on some of the songs. And the band first met singer Julianne Regan when they toured with All About Eve in 2004. Matthew contacted Steve Bronski through his myspace website, and the former Bronski Beat star agreed to mix four different versions of Strangest Love. Two versions will be on a double-sided 12 inch single - and it has some of the Bronski Beat's hallmark features: "It's full-on, '80s, synch-style pop," said Matthew. The group is hoping their follow-up single to that - The Widow's Blame - might even make the charts. Mathew said: "It's our stab at reaching the Christmas top 40. It features Arthur Brown and Misty Woods on vocals, and Nick Pynn on violin." All Living Fear have a distribution deal so the album is available in music shops from September.
