Planet Devon: join the campaign

We are asking the people of Devon to make a concerted effort during 2007 to reduce their impact on the environment around them by cutting their carbon emissions. Find out more about the Planet Devon campaign.

Are you confused by climate change, perplexed by global warming or mystified by your carbon footprint?

BBC Devon can help – we are using the power of local radio and the Internet to get something moving in Devon to limit carbon emissions.

Our year long project goes under the title Planet Devon, but we need your help to make it a success.

Many of us who live in Devon choose to live here because of the exceptional beauty of the coasts and moors, so what better place can there be to get such a campaign moving and seek to preserve what we love.

There can be little doubt there's now sufficient evidence that carbon emissions are leading to climate change.

It's also clear that should we continue with our current rate of consumption and use of energy, climate change will accelerate.

Putting all this evidence together, BBC Devon aims to provide you with as much information as possible to make your own judgment about the way your lifestyle effects the environment.

The Planet Devon campaign seeks to get a commitment from every individual to make a conscious and concerted effort to make a change their lifestyle and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

So, listen to BBC Radio Devon and regularly visit this website for features and guidance that will answer many of your questions.
