Since its launch in 2004 Exeter's Vibraphonic Festival has grown into a showcase of the coolest music from the UK and around the world. For 2007, it's staging its biggest programme so far. On 2-20 of March, the best in jazz, soul, funk, reggae and more will all come together to get the city swinging across a number of venues.

Alongside the UK's top talent will be some famous names from around the world. Already confirmed for Vibraphonic 2007 are hip-hop guitarist Four Tet, Nigerian Afrobeat specialists Femi Kuti and the Positive Force and 2006 Mercury Music prize nominee Zoe Rahman. Brazil, Jamaica, New York, California and South Korea currently head the list of countries sending stars to the festival. Adding an authentic tone to the concerts are Azymuth from Brazil with samba, and The Mighty Diamonds, who play reggae from their homeland, Jamaica.

There will also be Latin soul from New York's Pucho and one of the world's greatest B-boy dance teams in Last for One from South Korea. However, it's not all about live music - other media get a look-in as well. The Spacex Gallery is hosting a specially commissioned exhibition of sound installations and other audio-art. And if the moving image is your preferred choice, the Exeter Phoenix is screening a series of cult movies made by or about some of the most influential people in the world music scene. You can tune in to Vibraphonic's own radio station, Vibraphonic FM in Exeter between the 20 February - 21 March for music features and interviews.
