Muse's recent tour to promote their number one album 'Black Holes and Revelations' has been critically acclaimed and they were the darlings of many of the 2006 summer festivals. Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles hosted the inaugural award ceremony at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London. The Vodaphone Awards were judged by a panel of music industry experts. Moyles said: "This is the first ceremony to recognise not just great musical talent but great live performers from across the board." Muse, who got together in South Devon in 1997, have had their most successful year yet. In August 2006 they were voted 'Best Live Band' at the Kerrang Awards and were nominated for the 2006 Mercury Music Prize earlier in the year. |
