Jo Phillips

Jo Phillips is a 39 year old singer songwriter from Plymouth. If she could invite any three people to a dinner party, she'd like to dine with Elvis, her mum and Sharon Osbourne.

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself...
A: I'm 39 years old. I play the guitar and I've been writing since I was a young teen. I've been performing in and around Plymouth since 1995.

Q: What's the name of the track you've chosen to demo?
A: It's called Your Love. It's that old relationship thing.

Q: Can you sum up your sound in three words?
A: Catchy, harmonious and soulful.

Q: What do you think of the current music scene?
A: Well now that James Blunt is on the scene, great!

If Jo becomes famous she says "I'll eat my guitar"

Jo's set to eat her guitar if she becomes famous!

Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: James Blunt, David Gray, Alanis Morissette....

Q: You've been gigging for 10 years now, what's been your most memorable?
A: Playing outdoors on Plymouth Hoe in front of hundreds of people on a great big stage in glorious sunshine.

Q: If you could invite ANY three people to a dinner party, who would you ask?
A: Elvis Presley - that would be funny. My mum - because I really miss her. And Sharon Osbourne - to teach her some manners!

Q: What are the highs and lows of living in Devon?
A: Living in Plymouth gives the best of both worlds with the sea and the countryside. It's a shame about the amount of new buildings going up though.

Q: Complete the sentence: "When I become famous....."
A: "...I'll eat my hat! (Or even my guitar!)"
