Devon on Film is a section of our website dedicated to films and videos made by people in Devon. It offers a showcase for local film makers - a place on the web where short films can be watched by the wider world. If you've made a film or video you're really proud of, why not show it off to the public at large. We're looking for films made by clubs, societies, schools and community groups as well as examples from individual film makers. It could be a modest two-minute mini drama, a personal view of something really important to you or an experimental animation. Anything goes. The only thing we ask is that the material is suitable for a family audience - so graphic violence and swearing wouldn't be suitable.

We don't guarantee to publish every film, but we will watch all films and videos sent to us. If your submission is successful you'll get your work showcased on bbc.co.uk. You'll need to supply us with a copy of your film on either VHS, MiniDV or DVD. Films which contain recorded music must have appropriate copyright clearance before they can be shown on bbc.co.uk. You must own the distribution rights in order to let us show your film. If the film was made by a club, school or community group you must be authorised to offer it to BBC Devon for use on the web. We ask for non-exclusive rights to use your film free-of-charge online. This allows us to show your film on bbc.co.uk but doesn't stop you from giving others the right to show it too. We will remove films from the site within seven days at the film maker's request. Films should be sent to BBC Devon website, Broadcasting House, Seymour Road, Mannamead, Plymouth, PL3 5BD. You should include a signed copy of the film submission contract (see link below). |
