Tristan and Ian: Beyond The Clones

Beyond The Clones

Beyond The Clones have been producing tunes from drum 'n' bass to techno since 2002. Take a listen to Digital Dream and then tell the lads whether they are achieving their goal of sounding unique.

Q: Why 'Beyond The Clones'?
A: Because we want to sound different. We met at Exeter college in 1999 and started DJ-ing. We've been mixing and producing since 2002.

Beyond The Clones

Q: Which three words best describe your music?
A: Dark, exciting, different.

Q: What's the name of the track you've chosen to demo and what's the story behind it?
A: It's called Digital Dream and it kind of wrote itself. With a little help from our twisted ways.

Q: Who's who in the band?
A: Tristan Mee (25) from Kingsteignton and Ian Taylor who's 26 and comes from Exeter.

Q: What do you think of the current music scene?
A: There are still artists that make us cringe but there is a good variation from the likes of Coldplay to Kasabian.

Q: What has been your most memorable gig and why?
A: All of them! You learn something new every time.

Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: Coldplay, Radiohead, all Dark Drum 'n' Bass lables, Moby, Kasabian.

Q: If you could have three guests to dinner (fictional or factual, dead or alive) who would you invite and why?
A: Homer Simpson, Eric Cartman and Pingu because it would be so twisted!

Beyond The Clones

Q: Complete the sentence; "When we become famous..."
A: ...we will be the most interesting live act and best electronic sounds around.

Q: What are the highs and lows of living in Devon?
A: Highs - you can get wicked crowds - and parties! Lows are that it's not really where it's at, so making a name is hard.

Q: Beyond The Clones - in your own words...
A: This is the best progressive electronic beats, wicked. Listen!
