The
Unforgettable Song
On
the moors was a mill, and in the mill was a very ugly, but very
friendly troll.
His
name was Sie. Sie was a lonely troll who wished to be loved. One
gloomy night when the stars were out, Sie heard a sound he had never
heard before- the sound was so beautiful.
He
peeped through a gap in the door to see where the amazing sound
was coming from. Out on the door step stood a pixie dressed in a
purple robe.
Sie
could not believe his eyes and gently closed the door. "It
can't possibly be a pixie…can it?
Sie
thought the pixie was so exquisitely beautiful he decided to let
her inside his home. 'Sing for me, sing for me.' Sie pleaded 'Yes
you are the only one who truly adores my voice' confessed Flora
sweetly.
'Oh
Flora how I love you. Do you wish to marry me?' asked Sie expectantly.
'Oh
yes, but there is just one problem…' but Sie interrupted before
Flora could finish what she wanted to say- he may well wish he had
allowed her to finish one day.
'Then
we shall get married tomorrow!' In the morning all of Sie's family
gathered at a magical clump of rocks called the Cheese ring.
When
Sie got there he was surprised to see everyone, yet quietly very
proud and pleased. Sie was so thrilled with the day he announced
that Flora would sing for the happiness of the day.
Flora
sang beautifully, sweetly…when suddenly… a shot of light flew up
into the sky. Out of the light emerged a grand pixie who was in
fact Flora's mother.
'Come
on Flora, it's time to go home.' whispered her mother. Flora started
fluttering up to the light.
Sie
cried ' Flora, stay with me.' Totally beside himself with shock
at what was happening. 'No Sie I cannot. When a pixie sings three
times to a troll, the pixie must then go back to Pixitopia- the
Pixie's world, never able to return.
Sie,
I did try to warn you when you asked me to marry you- but you did
not listen.'
If
you are out on the moors at night and you hear a strange , sad ,
weeping noise it's just Sie crying for his unforgettable love -
Flora, the pixie in purple standing on the doorstep.
