Funded
by the Arts Council of England, Reverberations was the very first
of its kind to be held in Devon writes
Fiona Evans.
Artists took to the stage and ran workshops at TR2, the Theatre
Royal Plymouth, the Barbican Theatre and Plymouth Arts Centre.
Reverberations
offered a unique opportunity for African and Asian artists to perform
to industry people including producers, promoters, venues, art centres
and the general public. Raising their profile and hopefully securing
work or helpful new contacts.

were all served up as part of this Arts Council initiative.
Kate
Sparshatt joint co-ordinator of Reverberations considers Plymouth
perfect for this type of event.
"The cultures a lot of these artists are working from and influenced
by are quite relevant because Plymouth has a connection with the
slave trade and all the history of the intercultural mixture that's
come through the city," she said.
