Hi,
I'm Cam
I've
have been working with IVY as the editor of the IVY Project newsletter,
'IVY Uncovered', for over a year.
As a result I have been given the opportunity to experience some
of the fantastic work that IVY does with the community.
On
several occasions I've been inspired to join in myself such as with
the 'Make A Difference Day' mosaic project at Shakespeare Road Community
Centre which involved the community in designing and creating a
mosaic at the centre.
I also had a chance to help wheelchair users do their Christmas
shopping around Exeter in 2002.
As well as this, IVY has put me in touch with British Trust For
Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), which is an organisation that works
towards conserving the countryside.
I've also approached the Millennium Volunteers, with which I can
record my hours of volunteering so that my efforts are recognised.
The
newsletter itself is produced bi-monthly and informs IVY members
and staff of all recent and upcoming events.

Camera shy? Not at the Ivy. |
We
also have several regular features including 'Community Challenge'
for which we ask a different member of the public about themselves
and their job.
I hope to continue working with IVY for as long as possible because
of the experiences and opportunities it offers.
IVY is an excellent charity for helping young people get involved
with their community and to achieve their goals.
Hello,
I'm Will.
I have been part of the IVY media group for the past twelve months.
I take photographs which are used in the IVY Project newsletter
and for our website which we are working on at the moment.

I
use a digital camera that has recently been bought for the media
group by IVY.
At our bi-monthly meetings I'm provided with a list of events that
need to be photographed.
Over the past six months I have attended events such as the building
of a mosaic - intended to cheer up a community centre.
I have also taken images at several festivals in Exeter and I participated
in the Save The Children Walkathon by helping out on the day.
I've really enjoyed acting as official photographer for IVY and
I hope to continue being a volunteer at the project.
