The BBC Design Trainee Scheme helps talented designers at the start of their careers gain an introduction into the television, film and interactive design industry.
Design Trainee Scheme
The 12 month trainee scheme provides aspiring designers with practical experience to help them build on their existing knowledge and skills by working alongside experienced designers and design teams. They work on a variety of productions or design projects over the trainee period, thereby broadening their experience of working practices, programme genre or design platforms.
- The BBC cannot guarantee employment at the end of the trainee period.
- All set costume and make-up trainee placements will be within freelance design teams.
- The trainee year consists of a mix of professional placements with different design departments/design teams supported by skills training and mentoring.
- Trainees will devise and follow a personal development plan with regular mentoring and appraisals throughout.
