With
Easter just around the corner, it's one of the busiest times of year
at the Thorntons chocolate factory in Alfreton.
BBC Radio Derby paid a visit to watch the chocolate-making in action... |

There
are some people who would regard working at a chocolate factory as
something of a dream job.
But aside from the inevitable nibbling on the odd choccy treat, the
chocolate making process is a serious business indeed.
And at the Thorntons factory in Alfreton, workers are busy around
the clock producing a myriad of chocolate eggs in numerous shapes
and sizes to deliver to shops all around the country.

So BBC Radio Derby's Shane O'Connor decided the production line would
be an ideal place to present his programme from.
Shane was able to watch as the chocolate was made, then he tasted
it in liquid form before it was moulded into an egg shape and packaged
for delivery.
Win
some Thorntons chocolate!
And also along for the ride was a group of children from St Martin's
school in Alvaston who were able to see close hand how their easter
eggs are made.
So watch and learn as we take you on a tour along the Thorntons production
line as we reveal exactly how its easter eggs are put together.
