Peak Practice
Peak Practice cast
The cast of Peak Practice (later episodes)
Peak Practice is set in the beautiful Derbyshire village of Cardale. You won't find the village on the map - it doesn't exist. But Cardale is really Crich and Fritchley in disguise.

This extremely popular drama series (ITV) eventually ran into 12 series and much of it was film on location in Derbyshire (though a lot of series 12 was actually filmed in Longnor, which is actually in Staffordshire).

In fact, this series has a double claim to fame in Derbyshire as it was devised by local playwright, Lucy Gannon.

Peak Practice was set in Cardale, a fictitious village in the heart of the county.

Crich Market place
Familiar? - Crich centre
Crich and Fritchley, in the Borough of Amber Valley, were often used as the backdrop for village life, though numerous other locations made appearances in the drama.

The Beeches - Chestnut Bank, Fritchley.
Beth Glover's House - Archway House, Crich.
Jack Kerruish's House - Melkridge House, Fritchley.
Andrew Attwood's House - Holloway, Derbyshire. Erica Matthews' House - Iridgehay, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Crich Tramway Museum was used by the production team as their base during filming sessions and Allsop's Bakery and the now famous Cardale Chippy also attract plenty of glances from passing tourists.

South Wingfield (on the B5035): Here you'll find The Manor Public House - home to Chloe, James and their family.

Wingfield Manor also featured in several episodes of the series.

Kirk Ireton: The pretty village close to Wirksworth served as the setting for Jack and Beth's Wedding.

Belper: Belper Mill was seen as the Police Station in later episodes.

Wirksworth: This town was seen in the first series as Will and Sara visited the local bank.

Derby: Yes, even the city was seen in Peak Practice. The Cathedral, railway station, bus station have all featured, to name but a few.
