Nanny
Remember this 1980s series starring Wendy Craig as a nanny in war-torn
London? Well, some of it was filmed in Derbyshire!
For instance, The Choir of St Oswald's Church in Ashbourne featured
in the series and the very impressive facade of Vernon Street in Derby
also made an appearance or two.

The
Full Monty
Robert Carlyle and friends bared their souls (and much more!)
in this 1997 film about down-to-Earth Sheffield steelworkers who have
been made redundant, fallen on desperate times and decide to take
off their kit to raise cash.
Much
of the film was made in Sheffield, but some of it was filmed at the
former colliery site in Shirebrook.

The
Chronicles of Narnia
Wingfield Manor featured in the 1980s BBC verion of the classic children's
tales - the crypt was transformed into the witches palace!
Chatsworth and Haddon also provided locations for the series.
The Rainbow
DH Lawrence's social tale set in the Midlands was adpted for TV by
the BBC in 1988 (with Imogen Stubbs, Tom Bell, Kate Buffery, Jon Finch).
Locations included the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley and Hardwick
Hall.

Mr Chips
Two versions of this classic tale were filmed in Repton in South Derbyshire.
The historic Repton School provided the setting as did other parts
of the village.
The photo on the right shows a scene from the 1983 version of the
dramatisation.
