Ashbourne Town Band want new members

Brass workshop

The Town Hall in Ashbourne is the setting for a brass band recruitment workshop on Saturday.

The free event, organised by the Ashbourne Town Band and running from 10am to 12.30pm, is aimed at people of all ages who may be interested in joining the organisation.

Footloose at the Assembly Rooms

The Good Companions bring their new musical, a stage adaptation of the classic eighties movie 'Footloose' to the Assembly Rooms this weekend.

The final two performances take place on Friday and Saturday night. For ticket information call Mick George on 01332 721108.

Cartoon workshop

Andy Gilbert, cartoonist and humorous illustrator will be running a free drop-in cartoon workshop in the Craft Village at Markeaton Park.

The Sunday workshop, which runs from 10am-4pm, is open to anyone who wants to turn up on the day and all materials will be provided. However, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Strictly Vintage

The Showground in Ashover is the scene for a Vintage Rally and Festival of Light on Saturday.

The event, which will feature an array of vintage vehicles and engines, starts at 10am and admission in £3/2.
