BBC East Midlands Today has had full exclusive access to incident scenes and our local hospitals' A&E departments for two weeks to experience the type of work the air ambulance is involved in. Watch the East Midlands Today Videos![]() In the first of two special reports, Jonathan Cecil followed the team as they dealt with a head on collision near Shepshed and a woman with a possible back injury near Parwich in the Peak District - both needed transporting to the Royal Derby Hospital. And in the second of our special reports the air ambulance - call sign Helimed 5-4 - deals with an accident near Carsington Water, an emergency on the M1 and the transfer of a critically ill child to hospital.
