The bike ride lives on!

The popular annual October charity motorbike ride through Derbyshire (from Clay Cross to BBC Radio Derby) continues this year - with Pudsey set to feel the benefit!

The popular annual October charity motorbike ride through Derbyshire from Clay Cross to BBC Radio Derby continues this year - it takes place on Sunday 18th October 2009.

In past years riders have raised cash for the station's Money Mountain Appeal, this year the tradition continues by raising money for Children In Need.

Scooters and bikes are all welcome in the Derbyshire charity motorcycle ride

Scooters and motorbikes are all welcome

Last year a total of around 150 bikes, trikes and scooters of all ages and size took part.

The event leaves Powersports in Clay Cross High Street at 12.00 Noon and arrives at BBC Radio Derby at approximately 1.00pm. Tea and coffee will be served at BBC Radio Derby. Toilet facilities are available on arrival. The organisers are asking for a £5 donation per bike to the BBC Children In Need appeal to take part.

Route:

Along the A61 from High Street Clay Cross
Right at Higham on to the B6130 through Oakerthorpe.
Down to the A610 at Buckland Hollow, turning right at the lights towards the A6.
Turn left at the A6 at the Hurt Arms, and follow A6  right through to Belper, Milford, Duffield
Past Allestree village, over the A38 (still on the A6) and follow Duffield Rd
Past the Broadway Pub, down to Five Lamps, past the garage on the right
Bear right and then a left into Lodge Lane
Follow Lodge Lane round into St Helen's Street
Into BBC Radio Derby's car park on R.H.S.

The ride will finish at BBC Derby

Please note:

St Helen's Street is closed at the top at its junction with King Street due to road works.
