Unsigned: Mascot Fight

Expect radio-friendly indie tunes from 'the sexiest band in Derby!'

What's the name of your band/act and where do you come from?

Mascot Fight, from Derby

Mascot Fight

What do you sound like?

We sound like radio-friendly indie, rocky dischordant noise and everything in between.

Who are your influences?

We'd probably have to go for Pavement, Pixies, Belle & Sebastian, Dinosaur Jr  and the Beach Boys.

Tell us about some of your best songs...

Our best received songs are arguably Thinking In French and That's A Photocopier, which were played on BBC Radio 1 and 6Music respectively. A live favourite seems to be Fifty Kwacha, which is a bit heavier than most of our songs.

Where can people come and watch you play live?

We play in Derby every few months, avoiding playing too often so people don't think "them again??" and are currently looking to play wherever we can around the country.

Anything else you might like to tell us about...

Our debut album, 'Pantomime Hearse' will be coming out in the next few months.  Other than that, three quarters of the band play in a 5-a-side team. Our form is generally patchy, although this season we're challenging for promotion!

Oh, and we were recently voted the sexiest band in Derby.
