In John's walk, he visits a truly inspiring part of the Derbyshire - the Peak District. His six-mile walk starts in Calver, where lovers of 70s TV will be surprised to spot the mill. It doubled as Castle Colditz in the popular drama series. ![]() Map for John's Derbyshire walk After a walk along the River Derwent and a steep climb from Froggatt you arrive in the plague village of Eyam. John said: "I admire the remarkable courage shown by the village into going into quarantine, but the turning point in history is the change in our understanding of how disease is spread. New theories were put to the test and the isolation worked. "Although more than two-thirds of the 350 villagers perished, not one person died outside the village exclusion zone."
