Littleover
is one of the most picturesque and varied villages in Derbyshire.
Here, Denny Gandhi, takes a closer look at its various attractions. |
 |
This small
community suburb can be found within the south-west region of Derby,
it presents a good social and historical background of the Derby area,
with its local pubs and recreation areas, making it a friendly place
to live or just to visit.

Road in Littleover |
Littleover
blends a mixture of the old with the new, with many established historic
landmarks being maintained, such as the Half Moon public house and
St Peter's Church.
The Half Moon was used as a Coaching Inn, in the 18th century and
St Peter's Church dates back to the 17th Century.
Lying on the very outskirts of Littleover, Heatherton has the most
modern housing developments, which has also extended the growth of
the businesses in the area, with a restaurant, bar and medical centre
located here.
 |
| Heatherton
has a number of shops |
It is
no coincidence therefore that many Derby County footballers have taken
residence in this location.
Littleover represents a local community atmosphere, with a friendly
and polite array of cultures, old and young.
Recreational activities are also available with various tennis, cricket
and football pitches located in various areas for you to use, such
as St George's Playing Fields.
