MSPs unanimously pass Finance Secretary John Swinney's Local Government Finance Order 2014-15.

Mr Swinney called for the parliament to agree the funding for local government next year so councils can "maintain and improve the services on which the people of Scotland depend".

The minister was leading the debate on the Local Government Finance Order 2014-15, on 6 February 2014.

He said the total funding was "more than £10.6 bn", with the order allocating £9.3bn out of £9.8bn revenue funding.

Scottish Labour's local government Sarah Boyack said her party would vote for the order "with a heavy heart as our communities deserve better".

Cameron Buchanan, the Conservative MSP, said the Tories would also back the funding allocation, but called for more transparency and accountability in the funding process.
