Education Committee continue children in care inquiry

The Education and Culture Committee continued their inquiry into decision making on whether to take children into care on 16 April 2013.

The remit of the inquiry is to understand the decision-making processes involved in determining whether a child should be removed from the family home and taken into care and whether these decision-making processes are delivering the best outcomes for children and their families.

The committee took evidence from Annette Bruton and Lawrie Davidson from the Care Inspectorate, Stella Everingham from the Association of Directors of Social Work and Anna Fowlie from Scottish Social Services Council.
