MSPs questioned Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead, Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, Education Secretary Michael Russell, Children and Young People Minister Aileen Campbell, External Affairs Minister Humza Yousaf, Energy Minister Fergus Ewing and Environment Minister Paul Wheelhouse during general question time on 21 February 2013.

Issues that arose included how the Scottish government was encouraging people to purchase fresh local produce, what protection there was for young children in cases where allegations of sexual abuse had been made but no evidence had been found, what assessment the Scottish government had made of the impact that college mergers would have on access to courses in Fife and how many wind turbines would need to be erected to meet the target of providing 100% of Scotland's electricity needs from renewable sources by 2020.
