Palestinian statehood debate part two


MPs voted by 274 to 12 to support recognition of the state of Palestine alongside Israel, after a debate on 13 October 2014.

The motion which states that "this House believes that the government should recognise the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel". It was amended to include the words "as a contribution to securing a negotiated two-state solution".

The motion is not binding on the government but it could have international implications.
