MPs took evidence in a one-off session looking at the 2022 World Cup bidding process.

The 2022 World Cup was awarded to Qatar in December 2010 after the Fifa committee voted in private.

The Times newspaper has obtained secret documents which it alleges are proof that the disgraced Qatari football official Mohamed Bin Hammam, bribed Fifa officials to support the Qatar World Cup bid for 2022.

Qatar strongly denies any wrongdoing and insists that Bin Hammam never had any official role supporting the bid and always acted independently from the Qatar 2022 campaign.

Witnesses included:

• Greg Dyke, Chairman, Football Association

• Jonathan Calvert, Sunday Times Insight Team

• Heidi Blake, Sunday Times Insight Team
