Treasury Committee


Members of the Treasury Committee took evidence on small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) lending on Tuesday 25 February 2014.

This was the first oral evidence session of the Committee's inquiry, which focused on access to finance for SMEs, the scope for opening up the sector to more competition and the treatment of SMEs by banks.

Evidence was heard from:

Panel 1:

- Professor Russel Griggs, independent external reviewer of the Banking Taskforce Appeals Process

Panel 2:

- Priyen Patel, senior policy advisor, Federation of Small Businesses

- Matthew Fell, director of competitive markets, Confederation of British Industry
