Scotland questions

Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael and his deputy, David Mundell, answered MPs' questions on matters relating to the department on 6 November 2013.

Subjects raised included energy prices in Scotland, the effect of the privatisation of Royal Mail on Scottish communities, and the effects of the latest Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) settlement on Scottish farmers.

This was Mr Carmichael's maiden appearance at Scotland Office questions since being appointed to the post in the coalition's October reshuffle.
